K Beauty Cleanser For Sensitive Skin
I love the cleansing step of my K-beauty routine! There’s something about getting rid of the day’s grime and grime that really helps me wind down at night, and as a morning cleaning girl, I also enjoy a clean slate after a maybe not-so-great, restful night.

A good cleanser can really make or break a skincare routine, and as someone with slightly neurotic skin when it comes to foaming cleansers, I’m always on the hunt for that elusive, perfect second step cleanser.
I’ve been trying quite a few different K-beauty cleansers lately, so I thought it would be fun and helpful to share some of my current favorite Korean cleansers! All three are especially suitable for those with sensitive, acne-prone and oily to combination skin. If you have normal to slightly dry skin and still struggle with breakouts, you may get along well with these cleansers.
I’ve reviewed this cleanser before for Skin1004!, and when I showed you a skin care routine with Olive Young products.
Since then, I’ve never stopped loving Madagascar Centella Ampoule Foam Cleanser, and I never use any other Korean cleanser. I always go back to this when my skin is breaking out but also needs a thorough cleanse. This foam cleanser uses very mild surfactants and is fragrance free, which I know is important to most kids. It contains 33% soothing centella asiatica extract, as well as several soothing plant extracts such as coptis japonica, plus hydrating hyaluronic acid.

And that’s about the Centella Ampoule Foaming Cleanser: it’s so soothing and surprisingly hydrating! My skin feels super soft and just so relaxed when I use this, no tightness or oils breaking out of my barrier. It cleans thoroughly but maintains the skin’s barrier. I think it does a good job of reducing the redness caused by cleaning activities, especially now that allergy season is in full swing.
Oh, and did I mention it’s also a very affordable korea cleanser? You can usually find this at Olive Young Global* (currently around $15) or Stylevana*, and I can tell you from experience: a little goes a long way – a bottle will last you forever! A great second step cleanser choice for all of you.
Of the Korean cleansers I’m introducing you to today, the Fation Nosca9 Cleansing Gel is probably the least known outside of Korea. It’s amazing because it’s the biggest bestseller in Korea! Fation is a derma brand owned by the influential Dong-A-Pharm company and its products are specially formulated to protect and maintain the skin barrier. The Nosca9 range is designed to help oily, acne-prone and sensitive skin.
It is a foaming cleansing gel that uses mild surfactants and the main ingredient sodium heparin, which is soothing, decongestant and anti-inflammatory. Now, the cleansing action is slightly more exfoliating and overall stronger than the Skin1004, so I would only recommend this gel cleanser for people with oilier skin. I usually grab this when I want a really deep cleanse and right before my period when my skin is oilier and just “dirty”.

Nosca9 Cleansing Gel is still very gentle compared to other cleansers and I love how it helps reduce excess sebum and minimize acne-causing bacteria. There’s a reason it’s so popular in Korea! Please note: the cleanser contains aromatic essential oils (bergamot and sage) as well as a small amount of ethanol. I still don’t find it drying or irritating, and I’ve emptied more than half the bottle! It would also be a great cleanser choice for men as it feels very refreshing and ‘unisex’.

I keep singing the praises of this washing powder, but no one is paying attention to me?! How can this not go viral if it’s the best-loved enzyme powder detergent from Korea. This is probably one of the Korean cleansers that I have been using for the longest time, I mean since 2021? This is also my second package, plus I had a mini package in a K-beauty box or something. So, I’ve been through a lot of small bags so far and still love the juice cleansing powder wash.
What Is Double Cleansing, And Why Is It Important In Your Skin Care Routine?
Powdered cleansers are fantastic Korean cleansers (Japanese people love them too!) as they offer a very gentle mechanical cleansing action without being too aggressively exfoliating or stripping the skin. You basically mix the powder in the sachets with water to create a foamy paste, then gently massage it into your skin as the second step of cleansing.
One of the reasons I really like the juice exfoliating powder wash is that the grains are very gentle and don’t feel abrasive on the skin. They melt into a very soft lather once mixed with water and I never feel any graininess when using the lather on my skin. Despite its softness, I do notice a scrubbing sensation and I can see a difference after using this on my skin: it feels soft and smooth without being red or dehydrated.
The juice cleanse powder uses corn starch and the enzyme papain as a detergent, and it also contains a number of “green” extracts such as antioxidants, green tea, broccoli, avocado, and cucumber. The powder is alcohol and fragrance free and works well for all skin types. You can technically use powder cleansers every day, but I personally recommend using once a week max. It’s still a physical scrub and I use chemical exfoliants so I want to respect my skin barrier!
