If you’re short on time, booking a combo tour may be the best way to make the most of your time in the Netherlands.
Note: Again, I found this tour for a few euros cheaper than the official Keukenhof website and offers a similar service. I’m not sure if there’s a reason for it, but it might be a way to save a little money on your trip.

My friend Sophie had a bit of an issue with her voucher, but she was able to get a replacement ticket by making a quick trip to the information desk and forwarding the confirmation email to the (very friendly) staff member on duty. It’s done.
An Insider’s Guide On How To Visit Keukenhof In 2024
There’s a common misconception in the Netherlands (especially among people who rely on Instagram for their lives) that Keukenhof is a place where fields of colorful tulips frolic in an endless sea.
Certain vantage points around the gardens offer views of colorful flower fields, but if you go to Keukenhof you won’t have the chance to actually walk among these flower fields or take photos up close .
So, if so, I recommend checking out my article about tulip fields that you can visit for free in the Netherlands.
If you want to take a closer look at Lisse’s tulip fields, you can also rent a bicycle (independent of Keukenhof admission), so you can freely explore the fields on your bike. However, please note that many fields are privately owned. Do not go and take photos unless it is explicitly stated that it is allowed.
Visit Keukenhof Gardens 2024
On our first visit, we decided to book a hotel in Lisse on a weekday. That way, I could take a leisurely walk to Keukenhof Gardens in the morning and get there just as the gates opened.
We slept in, drank coffee a little too long, and walked to Keukenhof about 30 minutes after opening.
To our surprise, the parking lot was already full of tour buses and cars, as well as photo-hungry tourists just like us.
Fortunately, the garden was large and the further we went, the fewer people there were, so we were able to enjoy it.
